Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 18, 2026 · Version 1.0

Schoolyland believes in equal access. We want every visitor — including people who use assistive technology — to be able to read, navigate, and use schoolyland.com. This statement describes what we do for accessibility, where we may currently fall short, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.

1. Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which we treat as the practical benchmark for web accessibility. The site is currently partially conformant: most content and functionality meet WCAG 2.1 AA, and some parts may not yet.

2. What this statement covers

This statement applies to schoolyland.com only — our public website. It does not cover:

  • Customer platforms. Websites we build and maintain for our customers are owned by them. Accessibility of a customer platform — including any legal obligations that apply to it — is the responsibility of the customer as its owner. On request, we are happy to point customers to suitable accessibility tools and professionals.
  • Third-party services we link to or embed (for example, PayPal checkout screens), which are governed by their providers’ own accessibility practices.

3. Accessibility measures on this site

schoolyland.com is built with:

  • Semantic HTML structure — headings, landmarks, and lists that assistive technology can parse
  • Keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator
  • ARIA labels on navigation, menus, and interactive controls
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images
  • Color contrast designed to meet WCAG AA for text and interactive elements
  • A responsive layout that supports zoom and small screens without loss of content
  • No auto-playing media and no flashing content

4. Known limitations

We review the site regularly, but some areas may not be fully accessible yet. Examples: scroll-triggered animations may not yet respect the reduced-motion preference on every page; recently added content may be missing complete alternative text; and some complex interactive flows (such as checkout) may be harder to use with certain assistive technologies. If you hit any of these — or anything else — please tell us.

5. Feedback and contact

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, tell us which page you were on and what happened. We commit to: responding within a reasonable time; fixing reported issues where we reasonably can; and, where a fix is not immediately possible, offering an alternative way to get the information or complete the task.

6. Review of this statement

We review this statement and the site’s actual accessibility at least once a year, and update it when the site, the technology, or applicable requirements change. The “Last updated” date appears at the top.
