Your platform ships MCP-enabled: an AI assistant that supports the MCP standard — Claude, ChatGPT, Manus, Cursor and others — can connect directly to your platform’s systems and work with you in plain English. The AI layer is included for your first year and is active from day one.
What it actually does
Once connected, your AI can read data and take actions across the platform — the same systems you’d click through in WordPress admin:
- “How were sales this week?” — reads your store.
- “Draft a campaign to everyone who bought the workshop” — segments contacts and writes the email for your approval.
- “Create a course outline with 3 sections and build the lessons” — builds LearnDash structure.
- “Build a landing page for the webinar” — creates the page.
- “When someone finishes the course, send them this follow-up” — builds the automation.
You stay in the driver’s seat: significant actions are shown to you before they happen, and everything the AI changes is snapshotted first. See AI safety: what protects you.
Connect in three steps
- Log in to your customer portal and open the AI Layer tab. Your personal connection page holds your unique connection link and the current setup steps per AI tool.
- Add the connection in your AI tool (for example, as a connector/integration in Claude). The connection page walks you through the exact clicks for each supported tool.
- Say hello: ask your AI “give me an overview of my site”. If it answers with your platform’s data — you’re connected.
What you need on your side
Your own account with the AI tool of your choice (e.g. a Claude subscription) — that’s purchased directly from the AI provider and isn’t part of the Schoolyland package. Any MCP-compatible tool works; if you’re unsure which to pick, Claude is the reference experience.
Your team can connect too
The AI Layer tab also manages team connections — separate connection credentials for people who work with you, which you can revoke individually at any time.
Where to learn what’s possible
The connection page links to a full guide with example conversations per system. A good habit for your first week: whenever you’re about to do something in WordPress admin, ask the AI to do it instead. That’s how the conversation-first workflow becomes natural.
